Something went wrong: refresh, crash, or lost internet

First: stay calm. Your recording is saved in small pieces on your computer while you record. You lose about 2 seconds at most.

If you refreshed or closed the tab

  1. Open the room again with the same link.
  2. Allow camera and microphone.
  3. Keep recording, or stop and finish.
  4. Your earlier pieces are kept. The next time you come back, the app uploads the rest.

If your internet dropped

  1. Keep the tab open. Do not close it.
  2. When the internet returns, the app uploads what is left by itself.
  3. The call may freeze. The recording does not, because it is made on your computer.

If your computer crashed or the browser closed

  1. Open the same browser on the same computer.
  2. Go to /rec/recover.
  3. The page finishes any uploads that were left.

If a recording is stuck on "Preparing…"

  1. Go to Library → Videos tab.
  2. Find the recording card. Click the ⋮ menu.
  3. Choose Try again. If you do not need it, choose Delete.
  4. After about an hour of being stuck, the app marks it as failed and tells you. Then you can retry or delete.

Tips to avoid problems

  • Use a cable or a strong Wi-Fi.
  • Close other heavy apps and tabs.
  • Charge your laptop.
  • Do a short test recording first.
