What if AI misses a clip you wanted?

Uploads & AI clips2 min read

The AI's pass is a strong starting point, but now and then it skips a moment you really want. Here's how to capture it today.

First, try a fresh detection

Open the video's menu and click Re-detect clips. A new pass can surface different moments — especially if the first run used the scene-detection fallback rather than the full transcript ranking. Re-detecting keeps every clip you've already approved, so it's safe to try.

The reliable way: trim and re-upload

  1. In your editor, trim your source so the moment you want stands on its own, with a clean start and end.
  2. Upload that as a new video and run Detect clips.
  3. Approve the clip — it cuts to a standalone file you can feature like any other.

Good to know

Hand-adding a clip by typing exact start and end times isn't in the dashboard yet — it's on the roadmap. For now, curating the AI's clips and re-uploading a tightened source covers the same ground. To reshape the clips you already have, see Can I merge, split, or reorder clips?.
